At road.cc, every product has been thoroughly tested, as long as you can correctly understand its working conditions. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists and we believe they are objective. Although we strive to ensure that the opinions expressed are supported by facts, the comments are essentially an informed opinion, not a final ruling. We will not deliberately try to destroy anything (except locks), but we do try to find any weaknesses in the design. The total score is not just the average of the other scores: it reflects the function and value of the product-the value depends on how the product compares with items of similar specifications, quality, and price.

Good grades are more common than bad, because fortunately good products are more common than bad.

TurboRocks Realplate React Stealth Full Motion shake plate helps to create realistic movements when using indoor trainers, thereby increasing fun and comfort. It is suitable for different trainers, riding styles and personal preferences, but this will increase the cost.

TurboRocks is a company that specializes in making rocking boards for indoor training enthusiasts, aiming to add realism to your indoor riding experience. Realplate React Stealth is the top model in the series. It is made of two pieces of 18 mm birch planks, the choice is high strength, and the top plate is coated with waterproof paint, the training device is placed on it, and the surface is coated with black rubber coating to prevent us from splashing when riding Corrosive sweat is indoors.

The two plates are connected by a metal shaft and a spring mechanism, allowing the top plate to move forward and backward by 240 mm. In addition, it can also be tilted left and right, controlled by two inflatable balls with a tilt angle of up to 7.2 degrees.

The length of the rocker plate is 1,750 mm, the widest point is 930 mm, and it will add 86 mm to your indoor setup. This means that for almost all settings, it requires additional space, but I believe that for many people, the bigger problem, especially those who use existing bicycles for indoor riding, will be the rocker Occupies a lot of floor space when in use.

Realplate React is compatible with a large number of indoor trainers, including all the most popular options including Wahoo, Tacx, Elite and Bkool, as well as indoor bikes including Wattbike, Wahoo and Tacx.

You select the trainer of your choice at the time of purchase, and the board will be in place with the required straps/fixtures for easy and quick setup. TurboRocks also offers an upgrade service, if you change your trainer at some point, and the required repairs will be sent for free.

For testing, I connected Tacx Neo2 to Realplate React, which took only a few minutes, then installed a small level and inflated the ball to the required pressure. The attached pump does not have a pressure gauge, TurboRocks did not give a number, or even a target guide, because it is ultimately personal. A useful starting point is to inflate to the point where you can stand on the edge of each extreme and the boards do not touch each other.

It may take multiple rides to get used to it, and personal position and preferences can also affect settings, such as the level under the floor. I found that when I was sitting on the bike, I needed to inflate more than the other ball to correct the slight tilt, but even so, the entire process from opening the package to feeling comfortable while riding took less than 30 minutes .

In addition to allowing left and right movement, two inflatable balls are used to balance the rider's weight, Realplate React also allows forward and backward movement. Its structure is based on a central shaft with a large roller bearing that allows the top and bottom plates to move, as well as two springs that control speed and rebound. The spring is not adjustable and there is no built-in damping type in the system, but I did not find this to be a problem.

As a person who only rides indoors in winter, I expect it will take a while to adjust and adapt to the sport, just like the situation when I tested the Lifeline Rocker Plate at the beginning of the year. But TurboRocks React's forward and backward movement feels more intuitive and natural; even at low power output, you can see the pedals move slightly in each pedal stroke, extending as you work hard, especially when you are on a bicycle When moving from a sitting position to a standing position.

Increasing rider comfort is usually a reason for using a rocker, and I certainly find that I can keep it for several hours at a time without feeling discomfort. A long-term injury to one leg meant that I had been struggling for the past 90 minutes of riding and had to stand and ride for a long time, but the exercise offered here seemed to have improved-I never felt the need to stop riding, relax, or even stretch.

I have used Realplate React at all levels of intensity, from gentle riding to short, fast-paced racing effort, and in terms of the power figures I see, there is no negative impact. Personally, I mainly use indoor trainers for short, high-intensity exercises to save time, but if you are happy or like to ride for longer periods of time, I believe the exercises provided may bring greater benefit.

Although TurboRocks did not make any statement, the rocker plate will definitely reduce the pressure exerted on the bicycle frame, while the exercise will reduce the twisting action on the rear triangle.

The maximum weight of the rider or the total package is not given, but for some newer indoor bikes, such as the Tacx Neo Bike Smart weighing more than 50 kg, the rider's weight is at the top, and the system can obviously handle heavy loads. What I cannot test is how the extra weight might affect the spring movement, and I cannot adjust the damping as the overall weight increases.

At £499, this is a serious investment that may only be considered by those who take indoor cycling seriously. Rocker plates with only lateral movement are usually cheaper. For example, the Lifeline Rocker Plate I mentioned earlier costs 299 pounds and currently costs 199 pounds.

The Bespoke R1 that Dave tested last year was still £295, and the fully dynamic R1 version was £395.

> How to make the most of indoor training courses

Saris was one of the first companies to produce shake plates. Its MP1 Nfinity Trainer Platform has the same 240mm forward and backward movement as Realplate React, and can move slightly laterally, up to 12 degrees. It will also set you back £999.

There is no doubt that many of you have created your own rocker boards, and many of them are undoubtedly for less money. But the exposed material may not be as cheap as one would expect-for example, before considering shafts, springs, additional tools and time, the cost of this plywood buffalo board is about £150 per sheet.

Although it may not fully replicate outdoor riding, Realplate React improves comfort so that I don't want to go back to riding on a flat surface indoors. If you often train indoors, the high cost involved will be well worth it.

Tell us more about the technical aspects of the product?

Other great features include spirit levels, non-slip feet and surfaces, spare balls and hand pumps.

Realplate React Stealth is 930 mm wide at its widest point, 1750 mm long and 86 mm high. Compatible with Kickr Climb, Kickr bicycle and Wattbike Atom.

The plank on the bottom does seem to have a very slight warpage, although I didn't notice this while riding, and it remained completely stable without moving or shaking.

The back and forth movement of the rocker plate uses roller bearings on the shaft, which may wear out, but even if it is used extensively, I hope it will take a long time. The paint overlay seems to work well and should prevent sweating problems, but I still recommend wiping after each use.

There is nothing in using Realplate, but it is expensive.

How does the price compare to similar products on the market (including products tested recently on road.cc)?

Compared with the £299 (currently £199) Lifeline Rocker Plate and the £295 Bespoke R1, it is expensive, but they don't have any back and forth movement. It is 100 pounds more expensive than the Full Motion Bespoke R1, which costs 395 pounds, but the Saris MP1 Nfinity Trainer Platform is a similar fully shaken plate with a retail price of 999 pounds.
